There’s a lot to love about Dubai’s Kite Beach: its white sands; its blue, fresh ocean water; its ample space, giving it the feeling of privacy even on busy days; and its chilled, family-friendly vibe. Yet, arguably, one of the greatest draws to this pristine, manicured stretch is the fact that, unlike the majority of Dubai’s popular beaches, it’s entirely free.
Located just off Jumeirah Road, Kite Beach also has activities for pretty much everyone. There’s a four-kilometer running track, Dubai’s largest skate park, kite surfing, stand-up paddle boarding, volleyball courts and a rope jungle gym.
Foodies gather at the Kite Beach kiosk, a cluster of funky open-air restaurants with everything from fusion falafel to frozen bananas. Outdoor beach shack-style seating makes for a great spot to enjoy iced coffee or a deep-fried Canadian pastry, but most people take their treats then stroll along the boardwalk.
