It’s a gathering spot that kids, adults, and grandparents can enjoy, acts as a respite from crowded beaches, and adds an all-day activity to the holiday roster. Whether you’re planning a family holiday or just a weekend getaway somewhere sunny, a pool is a welcome addition — and if it’s an infinity pool or one with a hot tub, all the better.

Using the new “amazing pools” category and our own research, we’ve pulled together 33 of the best Airbnbs with private pools. Even better, all of these Airbnbs are run by Superhosts, who each have a rating of 4.8 or above, a record of zero cancellations, and at least a 90 percent response rate, meaning they’ll get back to you ASAP. Bali, Indonesia
Ideal for couples looking to get away or celebrate an anniversary, this relaxing retreat in the Sumberkima Hill villa compound comes with access to a unique communal pool sticking out of the hill with beautiful panoramic views. This villa is a minimalist style one-bedroom home with an extra-large floating bed and spacious deck overlooking Barat National Park and the volcanoes of Java. (Noting that guests do need to walk some stairs to access the villa so it’s not ideal for those with mobility concerns or small children.)
Kathisma Beach, Greece
As if a visit to Greece isn’t spectacular enough, this luxury Airbnb makes it even better with a breathtaking infinity pool that’s made for watching sunsets. An ideal size for a couple on their honeymoon or celebrating an anniversary, this beachfront, one-bedroom Greek villa has a modern living room and kitchen. It’s only a five minute walk to Kathisma Beach, offering plenty of options for restaurants and nearby beach bars.
Tulum, Mexico
Part of Holistika, a yoga and wellness center where you can book classes and massages, this Tulum home offers the best of both worlds when it comes to having private space with hotel-like amenities. There’s room for a whole crew — two of the three bedrooms have a king bed, and the third has two doubles; plus, there are three and a half bathrooms. We’d spend most of our time out back, though, laying in the hammock or cooling off in the pool.
Placerville, California
Yes, you’re seeing this right. This California home has an indoor pool in the middle of its living room. No matter what the weather forecast looks like, groups of friends can enjoy the heated pool complete with LED lights and a fountain that streams down from above. This five-bedroom home sits on five acres with oak trees, a large patio, and lounge seating ideal for an evening BBQ. It also has a basement room with skee-ball and a large TV for a fun-filled game night. For families interested in booking, there is a pool fence available to make sure kids stay safe inside, too.
Caicos Islands, Turks & Caicos
For a luxury vacation to Turks & Caicos, this gorgeous, tropical villa is for you. Located minutes from Grace Bay Beach and Princess Alexandra National Park (where you can spot dolphins), this villa has a two-bedroom main house and another two-bedroom guest house, making it an ideal spot for groups who want a little bit of privacy. The wooden sculptures, glass walls, and rooftop terrace make you feel like you’re staying in your own island resort. You’ll definitely spend most of your stay lounging by the L-shaped pool catching some sun.
Stellenbosch, South Africa
After you’ve gotten your fill of Cape Town proper, head to Stellenbosch for excellent wine, top-tier restaurants, and a stay at this gorgeous, quirky property. The views are spectacular, and the lengthy lap pool is no doubt worth a dip, if only to take in the surrounding mountains from a cooler spot (the outdoor patio’s wood-burning fireplace is another amenity not to miss). You’ll want to spend the rest of your time exploring the home; it’s teeming with plants, shelves of books, and eclectic art.
Joshua Tree, California
The Midnight Sun House is the perfect place to stay while visiting Joshua Tree. This two-bedroom midcentury modern home has a large living room overlooking the valley and a desert picnic area within the property. The pool, which can be heated for an extra fee, offers incredible desert views and plenty of lounge space. Guests can also hangout on the hammock, in the hot tub, or explore the hiking path.
Gros Islet, St. Lucia
This stunning oceanfront villa with an infinity pool is straight out of a magazine. It offers views of Pigeon Island, Martinique, and the Caribbean Sea and is within walking distance of Trouya Beach. It can comfortably fit up to eight guests, so it’s a great option for a family or group holiday. Enjoy breakfast poolside with views of the ocean or have an evening by the fire pit watching the sunset. Not only is the outdoor space made for entertaining, but the inside has picture-perfect sleek and modern decor.
Puerto Escondido, Mexico
This stunning two-bedroom villa in La Punta has a pool with an indoor-outdoor design you need to see to believe. It has a slanted roof that allows guests to enjoy the gardens, sunsets, and picturesque pool area whether they’re inside or outside. It’s a five minute walk to the beach, restaurants, bars, and local coffeeshops. Plus, it’s only a 20-minute taxi ride from the Puerto Escondido airport so it’s conveniently located for travellers.
Ceglie Messapica, Italy
It’s hard to believe you can actually stay in this historic villa in southern Italy’s countryside. Float along among the trees in this expansive pool, then take a leisurely afternoon nap inside the cool, stone-walled bedrooms (there are three, two with doubles and one with a queen, and three bathrooms). There’s a solarium and garden to check out, too, plus a cheery yellow lounge in a shaded part of the backyard.
Valladolid, Mexico
This Yucatan cottage screams romantic getaway, so whether you are doing long distance with your partner or are in need of a vacation away from the kids, this colourful one-bedroom home could be the ideal spot. The dining and living area opens up to a private plunge pool; beyond that is open skies and greenery. The house itself is in the Yucatán jungle, 10 minutes away from the town of Valladolid, and is equipped with the basics: in the kitchen, you’ll find a full-sized fridge, a two-burner electric stove, a toaster, and a French press; there’s also Wi-Fi, air conditioning, and an open-ceiling shower.
Montauk, New York
It’s hard to beat a good infinity pool — and this one gets bonus points for looking out onto Lake Montauk, just beyond the six-bedroom home’s massive backyard. This is definitely a family gathering spot — in fact, only families are allowed, the listing specifies—with room for 15 across all those bedrooms (there are four bunk beds for the younger ones to share). Other summer and family-friendly amenities include a washer/dryer, outdoor dining area, and grill.
Hudson, New York
For an Airbnb that feels more like a trip to the spa, consider this Hudson rental. It is secluded and spacious — perfect for city-dwellers looking to spread out — with a large lap pool and hot tub accessible from both of the bedrooms. (Even better, the pool can be heated, so visitors are able to enjoy it year round.) Inside, the modern home has two bedrooms, each with their own pristine glass shower.
Cayey, Puerto Rico
In case you needed another reason to visit Puerto Rico, know that this luxury villa, with its lagoon-like pool and outdoor koi pond can be yours for a week. The four-bedroom home can fit up to eight, so there’s plenty of room to squeeze friends in or travel with a few couples. Between the expansive backyard, pergola, brunch deck, and stunning views, you’ll likely be spending most of your time outdoors, but there’s plenty of room to retreat indoors, too, and a large kitchen to prep meals.
Leicester, North Carolina
This place has everything you need to enjoy dreamy summer nights (and days) surrounded by fresh air: an outdoor fireplace overlooking the infinity pool, a hot tub, and gorgeous mountain views. Located about 20 minutes west of downtown Asheville, there’s plenty to do by way of breweries, hiking, and restaurants nearby, if you do venture out. There’s hardly a need, though—while it’s not an Airbnb Luxe, the property manager is happy to arrange tennis lessons on the property’s private court, and offer recommendations for services like in-home massages and personal chefs.
Folly Beach, South Carolina
This massive Folly Beach home looks out onto the ocean, and sits just two blocks from the beach. Take in the sunset from the screened-in balcony, or head downstairs to splash in the pool; there’s a barbecue down there, too, to get dinner going while kids play. Inside, there are five bedrooms, four and a half bathrooms, and a massive kitchen, shown above, plus a gas fireplace. To note, this is a two-story stilt home, but there is a lift if the steps are too much.
Topanga, California
One of our favorite Airbnbs in California, this Topanga mansion boasts incredible views and plenty of indoor and outdoor living space. Between the wood-paneled bedrooms, room-darkening shades, and floor-to-ceiling windows, it is the ultimate chill-out spot just outside L.A. in the Santa Monica Mountains. The main attraction, of course, is the huge infinity pool in the backyard, where you can splash around while looking at unobstructed mountain and ocean views. Not enough? There’s a hot tub out back, too.
Tamarindo, Costa Rica
There’s a lot to love about this Costa Rican villa — Traveler US editor Lale Arikoglu has raved about its views — which look out over Tamarindo Bay and the surrounding tropical forests — and outdoor hot tub. But the real treat, especially for a house 20 minutes from a rowdy beach, is the sprawling, secluded infinity pool, with its proximity to lounge areas (so you can chat with friends in and out of the pool) and wraparound ledges to sit and lean on.
Porto, Portugal
Any dreams you’ve had of owning a European country home can be (temporarily) met with a stay at this rustic, Porto home. The backyard is breathtaking, with an infinity pool jetting out over the Douro River and a multi-layered deck. Dining tables extend out from the living and indoor dining room, and the kitchen looks straight out of a movie set, with pots and pans hanging from the stone wall and all sorts of family heirlooms, from tea kettles to mismatched dish-ware and wicker baskets. With provisions like fruit, bread, cheese, and wine often left out for guests, it feels like a stay at your family’s (very beautifully located) cabin.
Water Mill, New York
A house in the Hamptons feels incomplete without a pool. This one is huge, with both steps and a ladder to get in and plenty of surrounding land for kids to play, plus a raised deck with lots of seating and loungers to recline on. The beach barn, with its exposed wood beams and high ceilings, is a great spot for a family get-together—there’s room for 10 guests across four bedrooms, including one with both a king and single bed inside.
Tepoztlán, Mexico
This is the kind of home you go to get away, turn off your phone, and enjoy your surroundings—starting with this pool, where you’re welcomed by mountain views of Tepoztlán, a town about an hour and a half south of Mexico City known for its natural beauty (lakes, volcanoes, and waterfalls included). Past guests note using the patios to meditate, watch the sunset, and read. Inside, there are two queen beds in one large bedroom, making the space best for a couple or a small group of friends.
Palm Springs, California
In the desert heat Palm Springs is known for, a pool is a necessity, and this one is calling our name. Surrounded by resort-style lounge chairs, an outdoor daybed, and a covered patio, there’s plenty of room to grill, sit and read, and swim during lazy vacation afternoons. Inside, the home is bright and airy, with boho, desert-friendly touches like geometric wallpaper and woven wall hangings alongside mid-century modern furniture and all the amenities you could need, including a washer/dryer and dishwasher.
Marietta, Georgia
Past guests note the backyard of this Georgia home feels like your own private resort, with its saltwater pool, greenhouse, and cabana. You’ll be staying in the guesthouse, which has its own separate balcony, a queen bed and a day bed, a full bathroom, and a kitchen with just the basics: refrigerator, microwave, toaster, and coffeemaker. However, you’ll be in walking distance of several restaurants and a farmer’s market. Guests also notes the bevy of amenities, like welcome bottles of wine, robes, makeup remover wipes, coffee and creamer options, pool supplies, and top-quality towels.
Monteroni D’arbia, Italy
If you’re dreaming of Italy, gather your family for a visit to Monteroni D’arbia. The house is split up into three apartments (so there may be other guests around), but this one is the largest, with two king beds and a pull-out couch in the living room. Outside, there’s an enormous swimming pool and plenty of space to spread out and relax while surrounded by sweeping views of the Tuscan countryside.
Austin, Texas
This modern farmhouse, which sleeps eight and has a backyard with space to match, is in an ideal Austin location, close to both Barton Springs and Zilker Park. But you could just as easily stay at home to enjoy the outdoors — there’s a sprawling pool and attached hot tub, with a large shelf alongside one end of the pool for keeping cool without full-on swimming (we’re already dreaming of laying out in that exact spot). Around the pool, you have everything you need to roast s’mores, cook dinner on the grill, or sit and stargaze; plus, the house is stocked with cornhole and board games.
New Orleans, Louisiana
This dreamy guesthouse sits one block outside the French Quarter, close enough to walk to the busy neighborhood’s restaurants and bars as well as the nearby Frenchman Street, where you can find more local music. Despite the proximity, it serves as a quiet retreat, with a bedroom and bathroom upstairs, and a living room and full kitchen downstairs, plus lounge chairs out back. The host, who lives in the main home, has two friendly dogs that occasionally roam in and out of the courtyard — a plus in our book.
Punta Arenas, Costa Rica
This Costa Rican retreat sits above the trees with a view of the ocean. Of all the pools on this list, this one might be the most unique, with a sunken seating area smack dab in the middle. Enjoy hors d’oeuvres or an evening cocktail on the plush couch, or use it as a space to dry off after a dip in the pool. The home is great for multiple families; each of the four large bedrooms has a private bathroom, and the dining table fits up to 14.

Graton, California
A solar-heated swimming pool, tiki bar, and infrared sauna await you at this eco-friendly Northern California home, along with walking and biking paths just beyond the property. The home itself is outfitted with hotel-like amenities, from Parachute robes and multiple pillow options (hypoallergenic, feather, down, memory foam, etc.) to a clawfoot tub. It sleeps four, and is situated an hour and a half from San Francisco in Sonoma County, with multiple wineries nearby.
New Braunfels, Texas
Take a visit to Texas Hill Country for a stay at this cliffside property overlooking the Guadalupe River. (Located near San Antonio, the area is known for its winding rivers and lakes, leafy parks, and historic 1800s German buildings.) Its cantilevered deck and private pool are obvious draws, as are the sunny interior and high ceilings, three main house bedrooms, and two additional bedrooms in the pool house.
St. Augustine, Florida
This St. Augustine tiny home has everything you need and then some: a fully-equipped kitchen, washing machine, comfortable king beds in both bedrooms, and, shown above, a petite pool with a tanning ledge on one side, leading into the deep end. Plus, a small dining table on the covered front patio for morning coffee or evening drinks. Past guests note the location is great for walking into town, too.
Holualoa, Hawaii
It seems almost sacrilegious to swim in a pool when some of the world’s most beautiful beaches are nearby, but that’s not stopping us from appreciating this resort-style Holualoa home. This infinity pool on the Big Island overlooks the ocean, and is set just outside the open-plan living room (with eight-foot pocket doors, so you don’t miss an inch of the view). The hardest part will be deciding where to post up: the poolside lounge chairs, the day bed, the hot tub, or the pool itself are all options. The two-bedroom, two-bathroom home sleeps four, and was built by the same people behind the Four Seasons Resort Hualalai with classic Hawaiian architecture in mind.
Lumiar, Brazil
Talk about views. This rustic-style home will make guests forget about the outside world while they unwind poolside surrounded by nature. This two-bedroom home is ideal for a small family or pair of couples looking for a relaxing getaway while enjoying the beauty of Brazil. Located in the mountains about two hours from Rio de Janeiro, the cottage has all the amenities you’d expect, like a fully equipped kitchen, Wi-Fi, and even desk space.
Santa Fe, New Mexico
Think of this Santa Fe retreat as your own little compound. There is space for 14 across the home’s five bedrooms, one of which exists in a separate courtyard suite, with its own full kitchen and a twin daybed. Outside, you’ve got a 50-foot pool to play in, a Swedish cedar sauna, a large dining table, and plenty of lounge chairs. Home cooks will love the well-equipped kitchen, including a Viking range. To note, there is a seven-day stay minimum in the high season, which is June through August and between Christmas and New Year’s.
